SMS authorisation issues in Malaysia

Incident Report for Luno

Resolved

Service providers in Malaysia have made a change to block links via SMS - Some SMSs sent from Luno containing an authorisation link are blocked.

We will continue using a different method for account or transaction authorisations - this is confirmed on the site and the app whenever an authorisation is required.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Identified

Some service providers in Malaysia have made a change not to allow links via SMS - Some SMSs sent from Luno contain an authorisation link which is now blocked.

This is a mandate issued by MCMC(Malaysia Communications and Multimedia) regarding digital communications.

We're working closely with our SMS provider as well as service providers in Malaysia to see why this sudden change wasn't communicated with us.

Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.
